I had one trained to bring me dead snakes and I'd give him puppy chow. Opossums can shrug off most snake venom. Worst case, they just take a long nap then get up groggy. Eventually he'd get smart so he'd cut the snake in half and bring me half twice. Once I figured out the snakes matched up I still let him believe he was fooling me.

Yeah plus they don't carry rabies and are GREAT to control ticks, eating up to 10k a year. I had rockey mountain spotted fever before. It f'ing sucks. I can't tell you how much I hate ticks, so that worked out well.
