Why would a guy wait on me to walk past or set himself up to be blocking an exit?

Guy at the gym I go to intentionally sometimes waits for me to leave before he leaves. I know he has a crush on me, but I notice sometimes he positions himself to where I’d have to walk past him, even putting his items on the floor so I’d have to step over it. He never says anything and I’m quite shy.

Ay girl, this dude at the gym is definitely into you! Some guys just don't know the best ways to show it though.

Leaving at the same time and positioning himself so you gotta walk by is his way of trying to sneak a peek without being too obvious, I think. But blocking your exit like that is kinda lame and obvs makes you uncomfortable.

Next time he does that, you could call him out playfully like "you trying to trap me or something?" with a little smile. Get him flustered and see what he says.

IF you're interested too, that could break the ice. But if not, set a boundary - "I gotta run, see ya!" Then speed walk away before he can stop you ha.

Or my boy just needs to work up the nerve to say what's up for real! Either way, don't stress. You got this queen! Handle him however you want - you don't owe nobody your time.

No problem! I always try to give my honest advice. Guys can be pretty clueless sometimes, so it's good you're willing to call him out directly if needed. Just don't ever feel like you deserve to be made uncomfortable or have to put up with weird behavior, you know?

Also don't be afraid to let one of the gym employees know, even just to have it on their radar in case it continues being an issue. Their main job is to make sure everyone feels safe working out there.

Hopefully a stern word from you will get through to this guy and he'll either man up to talk to you like a normal person or leave you alone. But you seem tough - I'm sure you can handle it if not! Just remember, your comfort is what matters here. Try not to stress too much and just do your thing! Let me know if you need any backup haha. You've got this.

Okay maybe I can describe. There’s a stairway to leave the gym and once he set up all his items at the stairs so I’d have to walk past them and him. Not sure why because he wasn’t waiting on anyone. Anyway he left maybe like 3 minutes later
