Have you felt something when a friend looks at you?

I was working with a friend, I was on grill and he was making orders, but I needed something from his area, so I told him "I'll be back with more" and he gave me a look. Usually there's more annoyance or a joke with it (cause that's how we are) but this time the look he gave me was something else softer and more aware. Throught out that night I would just point at something or look at something and he would just understand what I meant. I don't know thoughts anyone?

You two have found a flow, that’s all. I don't know if you use tiktok, but recently there was a trend going on with people who worked in restaurants, cafes, etc. and it was basically saying ‘that feeling when you have a shift with the people who know how to do their job’, and these vids would feature staff from front and back of house. How the waitress can go back there to the chef (s) and get the food out with ease, bartender is making drinks quickly, manager doing what they’re supposed to do, everyone is contributing to doing the job right. You and this guy have started that dynamic, where you can work well and easily together. He doesn’t have to ask for or do xyz anymore because you’re already on it. I’m sure you get what I’m saying.

Yes i saw those videos and i definitely agree , We do that when we are at our busiest when the pressure is at the highest, but most of the night we argue 🤣 and get on each other's nerves even when it's busy

And that is great! Maybe things weren’t always this way (especially since you two argue a lot lol) but over time you’ve learned how to focus on what matters and get things done as a team. It’s great once you find that flow, otherwise shifts would be a dreadful, chaotic mess.
