Can friends hold hands in bed while watching a movie?

we watch movies together in his room. his hands were kinda shivering so he asked me to hold it, then like twenty minutes later i moved and asked if he was still shivering. i asked him why we are holding hands and he said because its fun? so we kept doing it. he kept squeezing them and playing with my fingers and palm when we were holding hands and i did same for him. is this just platonic affection or more? I'm not sure how i feel about him but it was nice to hold his hand
