Do guys notice women’s nails?

My coworker (male) randomly walked up to me and asked me if I got my nails done recently. I said yes. He then asked how recent. I let him know what day I got them done. He then apologized for not noticing on the day I got them done and told me how they were nice and how he liked them. Is this normal of men to do?

We generally don't care about a woman's nails, so we often won't notice right away, and we often won't care when we finally do notice, unless they're just god-awful, in which case we probably won't say anything but we're definitely THINKING something.

When a guy likes a girl, he often will find something non-sexual about her to compliment her on. Sometimes the guy actually means what he says, but often he doesn't, and he's just trying to give her a compliment. Maybe this guy really DOES like women's nails - that's not impossible - but there's a good chance that he really doesn't particularly care, but knows SHE cares, and will appreciate the compliment and might become interested in him as a result.

As for myself specifically, I prefer a girl either has natural nails, or if she must have them "done", then something simple, such as a French manicure, is fine. Big fake nails, especially with all those weirdo designs and jewels and such are just tacky to me.

that is weirdo talk! hs didn't notice because we don't notice. but a simple compliment is normal not this story.

I could care less about a womans nails. Women don't understand this. If you like it though do it for yourself not other people.

It's normal to notice but it's not the first thing we notice.

Regarding you co-worker that level of interest definitely isn't normal. He sounds really gay and is probably jealous.

Only if they are gross or too long. Fake nails are a turn off for me personally.

The only nails I notice are the long, gaudy ones, because those are the women I try to avoid.
