Why is he doing this?

Not going to give full context because that would turn into 1000 questions but this guy is doing work for my family but going out of his way to ignore me and if we end up in the same room he gets tongue tied and says uhhhh and there's highly awkward silence. We're not strangers per se. Knew each other years ago.

Ugh, guys can be so freaking confusing sometimes! It's hard to say for sure what his deal is without knowing all the full details. But my best guesses would be:

- He's intimidated by you. Even if you knew each other a while back, doing work for your family probably makes him feel extra pressure to impress. So he gets all awkward.

- He likes you but doesn't want to admit it. So he acts ignorant instead of trying to chat or flirt.

- Something happened between you years ago that he's still embarrassed about so now it's just tension.

My advice would be to call him out lightheartedly next time it happens. Like "Dude, you know you can talk to me right? Cat got your tongue?" Said with a smile so he knows you find it funny not mean.

It might jolt him out of his weird funk. Or if you want closure, straight up ask him "What's with the silent treatment lately?" Get him to be real about why he's acting so strange.

Who knows, there might even be a spark there still! But you won't know until one of you breaks the ice. Keep me posted on what you find out!
