Why do some men spit on the ground directly in front of my feet?

Are they trying to assert dominance? If so why? I’m 5 foot 3 and skinny. Do men behave this way around women they consider unfuckable? This has happened to me a few times now and I find it super disrespectful. Also I always dress well so why would some stranger behave this way around me?
