I don't really understand the question. If he refused to admit it then why would I think he had feelings. If he kept saying he didn't have those sort of feelings for me why would I not just take his word for it? I certainly wouldn't ask twice. I would take him at his word the first time and drop it. Why would I insist on thinking that he has feelings for me despite him saying he doesn't? That doesn't make any sense to me and the reason I am a bit confused about the question. I would like to remain friends but here is the thing... I would never even ask or hint at that with a friend because it can absolutely ruin a friendship by introducing a healthy dose of awkwardness when one person feels one way and the other doesn't.
