Vehicle broke down and now weekend is in doubt?

now i'm not sure what to do , had been out earlier today on a short drive then just after lunch car started to over heat so i pulled over. had to take it to garage and its needs a new hose and clamp. not a major repair but can't get part till Monday so its parked at garage. so weekend isn't looking so good at this point.

part of the issue is i live in a small town and drive around to a lot of other places as not much near where i live. my gym and most restaurants that i go to and in another town 20 minutes away. like to take a taxi on Friday night from where i live to there is way more money than you'd think and not really affordable. and been off work the last couple weeks anyways and just got back this week so was kind of low budget weekend to begin with and now perhaps just an entire write off

any ideas at this point? perhaps just accept it as a non event weekend and find something interesting to do next week when car back

as expected weekend has been a bust , went for a walk today , is a variety store near a park /lake about a 10-15 minute walk away , went and got a red bull and some lottery tickets , didn't win much and pretty quiet there today as weather a bit rainy not sunny like last weekend

car is now fixed , well i got it back Monday but it acted up again and took it back to garage. turns out the fluid leaked and got on stuff in the engine which caused it to act up on Monday. but now its fixed , not much going on today but be ready for next weekend

the garage at first though it was just a clamp and it be fixed in 30 minutes than i went back and he said it needed a new hose too and he'd have to order it , problem this happened on Friday afternoon and garage closed early and other garage i called said they couldn't look at it till next thrusday

I grew up in a small town and shit like that would bite you sometimes. Next Thursday? For a hose? Sounds like your one horse town needs some more mechanics.

that was the dealership garage that said next Thursday , it was the small independent who is fixing it now but doesn't work weekends and didn't have the part there

true just screws up entire weekend from start to finish , it won't be fixed until Monday likely later in day and i have to work Tuesday so all my off days and screwed up

be too much money and car is old enough its not on warranty anymore so they wouldn't like give me a loaner either
