Is it a bad sign if the guy never initiates conversations first?

I've initiated conversations with my crush on my college course when I see him quite a few times, but he never initiates conversations with me. However, when I do start talking to him, he seems keen to keep the conversation going and will continue to talk for a while and ask lots of questions.

Does this mean he isn't interested and is just trying to be polite?

Since no one else will say it, I guess I have to be the one. Most men are too shook/scared to start conversations and women are the reason for this trend.

In the past, Women have said on social media apps like TikTok, that they hate men and don't want to be approached. And men said OK, you got it.

Being Too Sensitive:

If a nice guy approaches a women, some women will call him a creep just for saying good morning.

It might be a nervous habit or insecurity of his. If he seems very engaged in the conversations but just can't start them, then it sounds like he's into you but doesn't know how to initiate without some help. Keep trying with him. He has to get over the uncomfortable conversation initiation at some point. And if he doesn't, who knows, that might just be what works for you two in the end.

Depends on what kind of guy he is. But I know shy guys who'd still initiate because they really like the girl.

If you're the one initiating for a very long time, that may not be a good sign.

I often have conversations with people in general and women in particular, in which, after I've sent more than one or two messages, I'll refrain from sending any more because I think it demonstrates better manners, which I'm obviously in need of.

At worst, he has zero idea how to start convo. Wbich will get boring after a few years unless you're a particular kinda way.

I have a guy that keeps reaching out to me first, I finally engage in conversation and he stopped talking to me. As long as the convo is going I guess it’s safe to say he likes you. Doesn’t matter how it starts
