Anonymous(36-45)+1 yBecause they were crushed and she might be reminding him of stuff. This weekend I found some old pictures, she was never my girlfriend but I was wrecked for about five days, wasn't eating, crying, laying on the floor, drinking water constantly. Today had stopped after enjoying more than a quart bottle of Japanese whisky. Talked to my friend in the military and we shared stories and he pretty much said enough that finally helped me get out of depression and explained how if I try to reach out to this woman again she will get weirded and say its been too long since we hung out acting on stage together.
Because I've never dated , the advice didn't make sense to me, but I told him "I'm only accepting your advice because you've had many girlfriends so it must be true." Most guys could care less about being emotional, I have high functioning autism so everything in my life that I try is like playing life on straight up Legendary Hard difficulty.

1.4K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Guys don't monkey branch like most women. Monkey branching is when you're in one relationship while trying to setup/get the next relationship going or you pretend to be in relationship A while getting relationship B going which I imagine has something to do with why so many women lie when they get dumped & claimed they dumped the guy. I imagine they lie about what day they got dumped on... to be closer to the day the found a new guy so it doesn't sound like they were single for too long. Just a guess.
Since men aren't trying to pretend to be something they aren't (usually) they have no need for old pictures to show to others. Just like a restaurant won't leave an "open" sign up after business hours. Guys have this switch that can go from "on" to "off" and they move on. I mean if they have experienced enough of life to get 'it'.

Also why wouldn't they? It is over.
Why would they keep them up?01 Reply

+1 yAre you not using all your brain cells? They are an ex, we don’t plan to get back together with our ex especially if it doesn’t end on good terms, and perhaps abuse/emotional trauma much like how women deal with it.
I wouldn’t want my ex on my phone / social media if it all went to Hell UNLESS they were in a photo with a family member or good friend since those photos are limited/cannot be replaced so easily… Other than that NOPE I’d delete my ex and be proud.

Asker+1 yI mean like their entire existence not just the pics of them

Your question said delete all their pics though…
Well if I was given something like a plush teddy bear from my ex, I’d donate it for a child to have or something.
Guys erase the ex’s existence since their future lover doesn’t want to hear about who came before. If you come off obsessive with your ex, that is a turn off since “you should be focusing on me”
+1 ybecause reminders such as pictures of personal belongings
for sentimental temporarily keep sake
stop being sweet

distracting and depressing
And most of All

+1 yI never posted the pictures of us but when we broke up I was more happy than anything she was very toxic. But for normal happy couples (for the most part ) that break up. I think it’s due to hurt and makes them think of the other less. It takes me a little bit to forget about the other person but once I do I’m done.
00 ReplyMy exes that have social media never deleted all of our pictures so I don’t know. I know I always hid all the pictures I had from previous relationships as soon as they ended to separate myself from it but not totally erase it

+1 yBecause some women tend to take a look on their boyfriend's phone and see what photos they have. If he has a bunch of photos of his ex that he should have deleted and she doesn't like, then he's in the doghouse for sure.
00 Reply It’s actually not a gender thing, but most people in general delete pictures in order to not be reminded of their ex and move on. Everyone just grieve and move on differently.
00 Reply9.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Usually? Never heard that before. I guess the ones who do that are angry about the breakup and overreact.

+1 yPart of it is just trying to forget about the situation and move on. The other part is because they know that their exes and her friends will be watching.

It's how they reset themselves
+1 yWhy keep a photo of somebody that you broke up with. Not necessary. Might bring bad memories. Why do you care if he dumps his file. I don't want any bad memories or feelings. Especially when it hurts to breakup.
