Do guys hold friends hand?

Specifically in a car, when we talk. He always like to reach my hand and hold it. Always. If he just simply wants to highlight his point by touching, he could simply touch my arms or something rather than effortfully search my hand and hold. Though when he did that, its always for few secs..

Im not sure if it means something more or thats a normal thing between friends

So… I have a guy friend who always takes my hand because he has anxiety issues and this gesture helps him connect with me to let me know he wants an answer from me. It’s not romantic at all, it’s meant specifically to say “HEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK?” or “HELP SOS I don't know WHAT TO DO HERE.”


I always thought he’d outgrow it, but the gesture stuck and the meaning hasn’t changed in over 20 years. As long as we’re both clear on what it means there’s no problem.
