I need your opinion on something that's been on my mind. There's this guy at school I have a crush on him. For a while now, I've noticed he looks at me a lot and makes eye contact whenever I pass by.

Recently, I decided to approach him. I told him I had seen him around and that I thought he was cute. When I said this, his eyes opened wide, and he seemed a bit nervous. I asked for his Ig he gave me his phone, I showed him my Instagram profile on his phone and gave him a chance to follow me, but he didn't. when I left and said "see you” he didn't look at me or say anything

Now I'm confused. He used to look at me all the time, but after our conversation, he hasn't followed me back or made any effort to talk to me. Do you think he might follow me back later, or does it sound like he's not interested? I'm trying to understand his behaviour better.

Hontesly it sounds like he isn't interested. It also sounds like you caught him by complete surprise. It is pretty obvious from your details that he wasn't expecting that at all. I know that you think he looked at you all the time and I am sure he did. That doesn't mean anything. If you know that he was looking at you that is because you were looking at him. So he may have been looking at you a lot wondering why is she always staring at me? Know what I mean? There is the very small chance he will add you and was just trying to process everything but that isn't what it really sounds like to me by the details you give. Sorry.
