There's a guy at my work, he doesn't say hello to me?

Were working at the same place, but we're not working together. There has never been a situation where we introduced each other or so. But: sometimes we had a longer eye contact. I tried to say hello, but I couldn't. Still didn't say anything, not even a smile or so. One day I recognized, that I actually have a crush on him. Since than I'm ignoring him. My question ist, why is he making eye contact but doesn't say anything and is it obvious for him that I like him, as I'm ignoring him so obviously? I don't want to send him signals, as I don't have any hopes, but I'm afraid that he will know that I have those feelings for him.

I think you are overthinking this. Why not make eye contact and say hello... all you are doing it potentially making a new friend at work. It doesn't have to be more than that.
