I don't squirt! So it bugs me when guys start talking about how they gonna do this and that and make me squirt. Do they presume all women do? Or is it a preference they want? Cos it puts me off a guy (thinking that's his expectation). And that really a guy should be learning about me, my body and my particular turn ons. Not presuming they know it all already. Right?

I'm pretty sure that porn popularized the notion of "female ejaculation" as a "proof" of orgasm. And there are ways of faking that for the camera.
It's the same stupid logic of "the money shot" where they have to show the guy jack off and squirt anywhere but inside her to prove that he came. As is normal guys prefer doing that in real life unless they got the idea from porn or are stupid enough to use the pull out method of birth control.

In the end, there's nothing wrong with squirting if it happens. But if she doesn't squirt, it doesn't mean that she didn't orgasm or that you didn't satisfy her.
