Why do b*tchy women get the good guys?

I work in the public and something I've noticed is there are women who treat their men like dogs and a lot of times these guys are handsome and mild-mannered. It's a pattern. These women will be sarcastic, rude, and give them dirty looks while they're grocery shopping and they look just disgusted by these guys and these men just take it. If they're rude to me as a checkout person the guy will generally be apologetic. What gives? Not only with that, even my mom has treated my dad bad over the years and he just takes it.

Could be a lot of factors, one could be she wasn’t grouchy, controlling, or rude when they were dating as young couples go however as time went on, maybe fatigue from having children or something else in their lives they became b*tchy. I do feel bad for the men in these types of relationships and believe they should go to counseling to fix that situation… Yikes.

Side note as well: In public they could act differently while in private at home it could be a different situation, like they are afraid of judgement from others unless they treat the husband the way that they do to portray a wife that got it all together or something I don't know rlly. Just a thought, a theory thrown out there. Certain settings can indeed bring out the worst of people, these types of women should control themselves though seen a few.
