I told my guyfriend 2 years ago that I like him and he told me I shouldn't like him. I respected his decision and continued being friends with him. At first it was hard accepting that he rejected me then eventually I was okay with it. Since that day I haven't mentioned it again. So from time to time he likes to tease me. He likes calling me pet names out the blue and then act like he didn't, I ignored his behavior. The one that takes the cup is whenever I bid him goodbye he tells me he loves me and he expects me to reply to that... why?

I don't have any emotions for him but he's acting strange... I feel like I boosted his ego

Keep ignoring it. You're "the one that got away" and that has a weird appeal to guys at a certain point, when they realize they could have had you rather than all the **** they've been encountering.

Also, better that the guy start off by telling you he's not interested than to be in a situation where the guy tells you he's very interested but then isn't serious about moving things forward. You dodged a bullet.

I have to agree, it sounds like his ego is boosted and he enjoys teasing you. This is really shitty but if he’s not used to being crushed on or he has a big ego, he will definitely open the door for you to stroke it. I’d be distancing myself a bit for him, like friendship is nice and all but not at that cost. It’s degrading.

This about this, if you didn’t tell him then you would’ve always wondered “what if”. As of right now you know the result of confessing because you’re experiencing it so in hindsight we can say you were better off not knowing.
