Is it a dominance thing to show that’s mine or a desire to get closer to me. Me and him are not together but he kept trying to keep his hand on my back on the way to his car and all through the mall.

Hmm that is a bit strange for a guy to be so touchy with a girl who's not even his girl. A few possibilities:

- He may be into you and trying to subtly mark his territory/claim you without outright saying it. Like a primal "back off, she's mine!" signal.

- Could just be he likes you and wants an excuse to be close/intimate. His twisted way of flirting or trying to gauge if you're into it too.

- Some dudes get off on dominating energy and crossing boundaries to see what they can get away with. Power trip kinda thing.
