Confessed to shy guy?

I confessed to an extremely shy and introverted but good communication skill type of person. He is extremely goal oriented that he had deleted all his social media and went lowkey to prepare for medical. He had always respected me, and I developed feelings for him and so I confessed. We don't talk at all. He said at first he doesn't know how to react, or he is afraid he'd break the door (when I said don't leave the door open), he said he's afraid he'd regret saying anything later, however after all this he kept on insinuating till the end of the conversation that it wasn't a rejection but he just don't want to address the situation or talk about it!

Oh man, confessing to a shy guy is so stressful! But props to you for putting yourself out there, that took guts.

From the sounds of it, I don't think he was rejecting you outright. He definitely seems nervous about the whole thing since he's so introverted. Saying he's afraid he'll regret responding is probably just his shy way of stalling for time while he figures out how he feels.

The fact that he kept hinting it wasn't a full rejection is a good sign too. Most guys would just shut it down if they weren't interested. I think with his personality type he probably genuinely doesn't know how to process those emotions yet. And being goal focused on med school adds another layer of pressure.

My advice would be give him some space to think without pushing for an answer right away. Show him you understand he needs time. But also make it clear you're open to talking when he's ready so he doesn't feel trapped. Chances are once he has time to get comfortable with the idea on his own terms, he'll start to come around. Shy guys just take patience!

Stay positive - I don't think you're out of the running yet. Let him breathe a bit but stay friends in the meantime. With luck he'll realize how cool you are once the pressure is off a bit. Fingers crossed for you girl!

Good you for be being so direct. That is probably the only way to get anwser out of a guy like that. I would know. I would wait a little bit, like a week, and see if he has made up his mind. You might have overwhelmed him.
