What does it mean when a guy randomly texts you?

I woke up and found the guy texted me twice while I was sleep. He texted me to ask if we were meeting up in the morning when we don't normally do. And then he told me he just got back home around midnight. I woke up normal time and told him I'm glad he's back safe. Then he immediately texted me back. I thought he would be sleep but I guess he was waiting for my message?

It means absolutely nothing. He asked you a question and then told you he had just got home. There is no reason to read into these things like you are trying to do. I know that you want me to tell you that he likes you or has a crush on you. You wouldn't be asking the question if that isn't what you wanted to hear. The fact is that he simply messaged you. Do you get messages from other friends and wonder what it means that they sent them? I bet not. So don't overthink this. Heck if it was that late at night it could have been a drunk text and he was bored because no one else would respond to him at that hour. Doesn't really matter because sadly it isn't what you are hoping for.
