How to not stand out as a 5"10 dark skin black woman?

85% of the people by me are shoulder length to me or shorter. The dilemma is that I'm a girly girl and I want to dress up in short dresses and shorts but I think I would stick out. I'm skinny,,128pounds

Ok let's see... how do I say this? Alright I'll just be direct: to start with at 5'10" you are about average for a dark skinned lady as your genetics depict. In a society of people of multiple skin tones your heritage will make you stand out due to most lighter skinned ladies are not as tall as you. There is nothing you can do about that fact. The only true thing you can do is to know yourself, love yourself, know your heritage, love your heritage, and just be the tall strong beautiful girl you are. Spending life worrying about what others think of you is a fools errand. You cannot control what others think, but you can influence it. Because of who you are and how God put you together you are going to stand out no matter what. Any woman who stands taller than 5'7" will to some degree regardless of skin tone. what matters is how you represent yourself. Do you show yourself as a strong beautiful lady who is proud of who she is and what she represents as a woman? Do you dress as a lady of strong belief in herself and of strong moral background who shows herself as a person who should be respected and who has strong self respect? These are the questions you should strive to answer for yourself and if you can honestly say yes to all of them then I would say you are doing right by yourself already and whatever it is that has you questioning yourself and clicking your insecurity buttons I say is obviously trivial and you shouldn't waste a single moment letting it rent space in your mind or allow it to cause you to question who or what you are as a woman. Incidentally it is and has been my experience that proud strong beautiful women do not tend to wear the tiny mini skirts or the tini daisy Duke type shorts because they know dressing that way diminishes their beauty as a woman. No woman who is proud of who she is and knows that she is beautiful ever dresses in a way that causes her to appear less than who she truly is. Dressing in a way that draws any unwanted sexual attention to herself makes her appear as though she is desperate for attention from others in an attempt to make herself feel better about herself by getting the attention of others. Any woman who dresses in a provocative way has done so on purpose with the intent of being noticed for her sexual beauty. she knows exactly what kind of reactive thoughts her way of dressing is going to cause in the men who sees her and that is the attention she is deliberately pursuing!! But this type of attention seeking will also illicit responses beyond what she expects. She foolishly expects all men to be gentlemen and conduct themselves accordingly. The issue with this thought is now a days 90% of men have no clue what the meaning of a true gentleman is so instead they act in a manner that is totally unbecoming of a real man and treat the lady like she is a walking piece of meat. There is an old saying: Ladies, if you dress in a manner that will make the dogs drool, eventually you'll get eaten by the dogs, and only have yourself to blame for your unfortunate demise. in todays terms: if you dress like a slut you will be treated like a slut, so use discretion and common sense when dressing to go out on the town. With that my dear you are a tall beautiful person who should be proud of who you are as long as you are conducting yourself in a proud and proper way. You do know exactly how you ought to act and how to represent yourself. So forget worrying so much on what others think of you. What YOU think of yourself is the most important thing in the world! It is that exactly that shines through you and tells everyone around you that you are a woman to be taken seriously and respected accordingly! Do not let the idiots in todays society dictate who you are how you are and how you choose to represent the person you are. All the women who are strong, proud, influential women do not follow the trends of how their society says they should appear, they LEAD and INFLUENCE those trends in society towards becoming a better society than it currently is!!

I would say don't worry about it just stand out if that's who you are that's who you are embrace it love it love yourself there's nothing wrong with standing out like that it's a beautiful thing. And it shows that you are confident and you're okay with being you

As a woman who is also 5'10 all I can say is there really isn't a way to not stand out, but there is a way to own it. Wear want you want, including heels if you're so inclined, and just enjoy the perks of being taller.

Some men and women are more drawn to the height and like taller girls. Sure clothes fit us weird, but they do have stores that can make clothes that fit better for our sizes. Like in my case I'm tall and carry some weight, but I'm only an A cup so finding clothes that aren't tunics is really hard.

I’m 5’9” and I’m white and I still have the same reaction, and I know it’s a justified reaction because when I see a woman taller than me I stare at her too. It’s okay to just do and wear what you want, love. We are not exceptionally tall to where we’re always noticed and even if we were you still shouldn’t care.
I wear, skirts, dresses, whatever I want. Heels, I’m not too fond of so I don’t wear but if I did so what. Nothing wrong with sticking out if it’s for the right reasons and being tall is a right reason.

I like to blend in too. But I am 5'8" and built like a fire hydrant. I don't dress to impress because I don’t give a shit what others think. I guess I would have to embrace who I am if I was really tall and just go with it. I saw a tall girl in Target the other day and thought of your posts. I would like to see you all dressed up. If that's what you're worried about, then go out and get an enormous fruit-covered Carmen Miranda-style hat. No one will notice the rest of your outfit compared with that.

That is pretty much everywhere people are getting shorter. Tall people are very attractive. The tallest woman in our town is only 5'7 and she's white. I know it's asking for too much but it would be nice to see a tall girl that isn't white.
