Why Do Men Always Want To Look Older?

Younger guys want to seem mature and a little worldly so they can get the girl, the job, or whatever else they've set their cap to.

Older guys will try to reverse the clock a little... shave more so the salt-and-pepper doesn't show (even though it's usually sort of cute in that rugged way). Some will go all out on hair products and dyes (which looks a little silly in my opinion, but it's up to them if it makes them feel more confident).

I don't particularly feel a need or desire to look old; but I am not exactly pleased about still looking young

People do treat you differently if they think you are 25 instead of 45; I don't expect a 'Sir' or something, but a little bit more respect is desired.

Young females can show an interest (until they know my real age of course), and I am not interested in them. I interact with teenagers in equal manner, but I am not their 'Mate' or 'Friend'.

The one which really grinds my gears is if someone who is clearly younger than I calls me 'Son'.

I'm 30 and I love when people say I look younger than I do. I took it as a compliment when a couple days ago, a 15 year old kid told me I looked 22 at most. I think guys want to look older when they're younger because girls tend to be more attracted to older guys. And that changes when they're actually older because they want to be seen as having good genetics.
