If your usually “good” adult friend got arrested once when drunk. What would you say?

Like would you take the time to shame them and lecture them about the future Or just be like that sucks stay out of trouble?

I grew up during a time when getting drunk was just another Saturday night. When you drove after 11PM you had to assume that the other people on the road were just as drunk as you were. Where I goin the summer it is an island that has a road that goes along the coast of the whole island. On Saturday night the unofficial rule was that you drove clockwise on the coastal road so you would not have head on collisions.

If one of my friends got a DUI I would just shrug and say "so , what else is new?

Everyone is entitled to a mistake. That wouldn't affect our friendship, but I might quietly keep an eye of how much they are drinking the next few times we go out together, to make sure they don't have an alcohol problem, or if they do, to support them in getting help.

Not really my business what they do unless it becomes habitual where then I might try to intervene. If it's just the one time then it's probably just a bad night for them and I'd be supportive if they asked for it.

Arrested when drunk for what? Drunk and disorderly? Driving while intoxicated? Public drunkenness?

Depends either way they won't listen and will probably get drunk and do it again.
