While some exceptions certainly exist, most men aren't really following the lives of celebrities - male or female. Men might enjoy looking at some pics of a hot celeb, but they look at the pics and then they move on to something else. They don't obsess on who is dating who and who dissed who at this or that party. Most of us simply cannot find a way to care enough to follow all of that crap.

Men don't like drama in their own personal lives. They're okay with fictional drama - especially if it is solved through violence - otherwise Game Of Thrones would not have been nearly as popular. But we don't want any of that drama getting into our actual lives, and as unlikely as it is for a celebrity's drama to spill over onto our own lives, it's technically POSSIBLE, and that makes it unattractive to us. We only want to deal with drama when we can turn it down or turn it off when we get tired of it.

Dramatic celebrities gets attention because there's many people that gives them that attention. If you follow a celebrity couple that you know all their nonsense drama in their life then you don't have a life to being with.
