Just why? I hate the main selling point of a movie being that it has a popular actor or actress in it, for many reasons, largely because I watch a movie to be immersed into a story, and I'm not gonna be able to see a low wage worker as a low wage worker if he's Leonardo DiCaprio, I wanna see a character I can relate to, not Leonardo DiCaprio in a costume, I can relate to literally anyone, a black female space marine, a roof korean, a gay skeleton drug dealer, whatever the hell, BUT A CELEBRITY IS THE LEAST RELATABLE PERSON IN EXISTANCE... They always have this "yeahhh I'm a celeb bro" air about them... like Brad Pitt, the only character I ever found fitting for him was the raving madman in 12 monkeys, and celebrities can apparently bend the goddamn rules of time and space BECAUSE THEY NEVER GET PROPERLY DIRTY... Like I'm watching this dude... He's fightin zombies, he rolls through the mud, gets scratched, falls into a pile of ash, HE GETS DIRTY BUT THE DIRT DODGES HIS FACIAL FEATURES SO HE CAN STILL BE FULLY RECOGNIZED AND HE KEEPS HIS PRETTYBOY LOOK, I want to see NORMAL flawed people, I can't take it seriously when there's an A list CELEBRity playing an unpopular person or a bum, I'm sick of it I wanna see... NORMAL PEOPLE! Not these perfect plastic men and women... Where are the normal people? So whenever I watch a movie, the first thing it tells me is that some knotsucker is in it! I DON'T CAREEEEEE I cannot take a movie seriously like that! Whyyy? Just why is everyone so obsessed with these rich prettyboys? To me they completely ruin immersion, my ability to relate, my interest in characters growth and the movie's theming.
