Why would he leave so much of his important stuff at my house?

Soooo i have this friend. I can't ever tell how he feels about me. When he is drunk he gets really flirty and lots of hugs and little touches and he will sometimes fall asleep cuddling. Its never gone beyond that. I kind of want it to but he is a known player and i know he has several women he is talking to and seems like it runs a big risk of heartache for ne. But the second he wakes sober he jumps away like i bit him and keeps distance. He calls me sister and says he loves and cares for me, but he keeps it more distant than when he drinks. Lately, he intentionally is leaving stuff that is important to him, like his late fathers watch, and other things that i know mean a lot to him, at my place. I dont mind, but given as how he seems to have set some boundaries when he is sober, am confused on why and what it all means? Do players ever grow out of it?

He is definitely pulling player moves. I've known guys like him. Leaving his shit at your house is one of those moves. He knows he can always say he left something there to have a reason to come over when he wants, and he knows you'll always let him. Guys who are players know how to get inside your head and know which women will waffle for them easily.

My advice is, since you know he is a player and can break your heart, you really shouldn't be that close to him. But I have a hunch that you are actually attracted to him being a player. As so many women are.

I wouldn't say im attracted to him being a player. Thats definitely a turnoff. Weve been friends a long while and i always looked up to him before i found out that he was a player. Then when i did it was a huge disappointment. But he has done a lot for me and my kid so didn't want to write him off completely. But over the last year we have been through a lot, individually but helped each other through it. So it feels like we got very close as a result. But even though he denies it, it still seems like he is a player to these other women. I dont want to get hurt, just wish it was different.

I would stop letting him leave his shit at your place. That's fucking weird too. What happens if you break or lose one of his important items? Too much risk for me, but it's up to you.

I know in the past he was in a relationship with at least 3 women for several years, all believed they were exclusive. He said he has changed and is a different person now. And i have seen that in some ways. But am wary.

I put my ex's things in a storage unit, which was paid up for a couple of months, and told him to go get all this things from there before the expiration of the paid space. You should probably do the same if you're serious about getting rid of this negative person in your life.
