Why is he ignoring my text when he watched my story immediately?

I reconnected with my ex recently (we split several years ago). And he did make it clear he wanted to see me. But the past week he suddenly has been acting very weird - avoiding my messages but sometimes replies. He will watch my stories on Instagram but not reply. I texted him I’ve been talking to for a week and asked if he wants to meet soon (in case he wasn’t the texting type). I haven’t heard from him all day. I decided I’ve had enough and told him today to leave it and said take care. I mean if he doesn’t want to talk then surely he’d be happy that I’ve said that? Surely you would say even just a goodbye?

Well he’s avoided it again. I just posted on my story and within ten minutes he’s seen it. He also doesn’t follow that many people either. I just find it extremely weird. If you’re not interested then why not just say? I did ask him about it yesterday (even said we could literally just be friends or not talk) and he didn’t really answer it but just said he’d reply when he could (which isn’t what I was saying). But anyway, I find it very weird behaviour, why still follow me and watch my stories when I’ve called it off?

That is really strange behavior on his part. A couple thoughts on what might be happening:

- He's may not be over you completely if he split with you years ago, and getting back in touch made old feelings resurface. But he's conflicted or unsure about actually pursuing something again.

- He's interested in the attention/validation of you still being into him, but isn't ready or willing to commit to meeting up or communicating consistently.

- Something else is going on in his personal life that has him distracted or unavailable, but he still wants to casually follow what you're up to.

The silent treatment while still stalking your social media is really immature. You were right to call it off if he can't even give you basic respect and follow through on his own words. I'd say don't reach back out or give him any more of your energy. If he really wanted to talk to you, he would. The mixed signals are pointless drama. Focus on guys who will actually communicate openly without games. This dude is just wasting your time at this point by not being upfront.

No problem, I'm always down to help a friend out! I'm really glad you're gonna leave it alone - he's definitely not worth losing any more sleep over. Ugh I hate when guys play those dumb games, it's so immature.

Just do your thing and have an awesome weekend! Hit me up if you wanna hang out, maybe we can get a group together to check out that new movie or head to the arcade. Having a good group of people around always makes me feel better when crap like this goes down.

Keep your chin up - his loss is definitely gonna be someone else's gain real soon! Trust that the right guy who gives you the attention and respect you deserve is out there. But in the meantime, love yourself and focus on having fun. You've got this! 💪
