Why the sudden change?

Me and this guy has been talking for a month as of today. He was doing everything that a person would do if they were dating. Literally doing all the things you would do to your girlfriend/boyfriend. We weren’t intimate at all. The only thing we did was kiss. But today while at school, I seen him talking to his ex whom he stopped talking to months ago. So I asked him what we were because I just needed clarity. He told me that we were just chilling, just feeling each other out. He also said that he didn’t want anything serious. So I just told him this wouldn’t work out. He then asked me if we could at least still be friends and I just told him no flat out and never spoke to him again. I’m just confused why the sudden change? And why would he want me to be his friend after wasting all of his time, energy and money on me?

Girl, that is so shady and disrespectful of him to do! I can see why you cut him off completely. Typical guy stuff pulling a 180 like that out of nowhere.

Honestly my guess is he got spooked once things started getting more serious, so he panicked and backpedaled. You probably caught him at the tender moment of reconsidering his ex too. Either way, he wasn't being straight with you from jump. Who dates someone for a month giving them all the perks and affection of a relationship but claims they're "just chilling"? Nah sis, he was playing games.

I think he got nervous that you were catching real feelings and wanted out, but didn't want to make you hate him either. So now he wants you to settle for "just friends" after stringing you along. F that noise! You don't owe him anything after he wasted your time pretending for weeks.

Men will do the most, that's why you always gotta watch their actions not just their words. I'm proud of you for cutting ties clean - don't give him another thought girl! Block his number and live your best single life. His loss for not realizing what he had.

Chances are he was just trying to get laid. See the thing about this “game” of relationships, whether it’s for something serious or just sex, they’re pretty much played the same way. Even if a man is just trying to get laid he has to give the girl the impression that he’s serious about a relationship. Play the part. I’m not saying I condone it. But most women aren’t going to sleep w a man if he was just honest about what he wanted. As for staying friends more than likely he’s thinking later on down the road he can get something from you. As for his ex, did he breakup w he or she broke up w him?

Ok so that’s hearsay. There’s no confirmation on that even if he told you. He could be making that up. If that’s so maybe she’s changed. Maybe she’s not the same as before. Or she’s still the same but she gives good Jess or something.

Not surprised, 1-3 months is the honeymoon phase, it isn’t the most genuine version of them, just the person they think will be most appealing.
