Liking a close friend of mine?

I think I might have a crush on my friend, he's a year younger *which isn't a problem*, and it seems like he kinda likes me, cause we always try our best to walk to classes and see each other and he always responds quickly too all my texts but I also don't want to assume.

Here's what I would say:

Ooh girl, this could be tricky since he's such a close friend! But also kinda exciting if he likes you back.

I'd say pay attention to little signs from him - does he find excuses to be around you a lot? Does he listen really intently when you talk? Does he remember little things you've said? Stuff like that would hint he sees you as more than a friend.

You could also try casually flirting with him a tiny bit - little compliments, light touches on the arm when you laugh together, playful teasing. Subtle stuff. See how he reacts and if he might flirt back.

If you get signals he's into you too, then I'd say go for it! Just be careful not to ruin the friendship. Maybe have a talk and make sure you're both on the same page about still being pals even if it doesn't work out.

And try not to overthink stuff - just go with the flow and have fun together! It could lead to something really special if you both like each other. Just don't rush and stay communicative. Keep me posted, I'm rooting for you guys!

Yes he likes you. At your age, a younger guy, (even just one year) has a very low probability of being successful with an "older woman ". You may have to get real obvious with him. And by that I mean guy obvious, not girl hint language obvious. Something along the lines of "Hey, I like you, want to go out?" Out loud, in your common shared language.

@spartan55 well it shouldn’t be. It’s never right to dump someone as a friend just because they like you that way and you don’t feel the same way.

Now if they keep hitting on you after you told them no, that’s a different story. But I’m sure she wouldn’t do that.
