my now ex boyfriend broke up with me over text:
Thursday
him: "You need to let me go my dear, I can't be in this relationship."

me: "I don't want to beg I just want to talk"
"do you speak with God" (we are religious)
him: "leave me alone, you need to move on"
me: " this has got nothing to do with us. I'm just generally asking you a question about God"
him: "i'm not engaging in that converstaion"
he eventually picked up my call, didn't say a word and just listened to me speak for just under an hour, apologising, saying thanking you and talking about God.
I sent a reel with the quote: love is patient love is kind etc...
The following day Friday
him: sends a 1950's reel of women, couples and kids with the song lyrics "my love, my darling, I hunger hunger for your love"
Saturday
liked my reel
him: "you sounded so sweet and graceful on the phone the other night"
What is going on in his head?
He has done things like this perviously where he wanted me to attend his graduation, then he didn't and then he did again in the span of 4 days.

He doesn't want to be in a relationship with you but can't let you go. He likes having the security of having you in his backhand sitting on the bench in case his plans dont work out. Best course of action would be blocking him and cutting all contact for good so you can procress and heal.
