How do men act when they don't know a girl well but have a crush on her? How is it different from how they act when they want to just hookup?

a man with a crush and a man who wants to hook up will not be fundamentally different to the person observing. i mean ultimately they both want your pussy. the only thing that a guy who's after a hookup will differ in is persistance. cause at some point he'll find another hook up and lose intest in trying.
a good method i find is: ignore what they're saying. look at what they're doing. hook up seekers are good at finding the right words. cause they don't give a shit since they really have nothing to lose. they know what women wanna hear.

men who are generally interested are carefull and cautious. maybe clumsy and maybe they don't wanna come on too strong as to not to miss their chance. so it's likely they seem less romantic or interested on the surface. but as opposed to the guy who just wants to fuck, the guy who has a crush, will stick around. will be there for you without asking. will be happy for your time even if it's not for sex.

It depends, if a guy just wants to hook up he'll be noncommittal and say something like "why don't you come over and we can hang out" but if has a crush and wants to actually spend time with a women then he'd suggest going out for coffee, or grabbing some lunch. Something that allows time to talk and get to know each other a bit more.

It's difficult to see through our haze of lust. We can't see women as people in this state because we do not see ourselves as people in this state: we are driven by desire. The only ways around it are to either dispel the haze with lots of sex or to catch us when we have found some other thing to attract our attention. Sports and games seem like an obvious choice but those also tend to appeal to an animal nature. Work or school romance, therefore, are probably the best options.
