Do men get caught up in their fake personality?

just found out my ex faked his personality with me but it felt real. he even got mad at me at times as if he actually cared. do men get caught up in their fake personas and accidentally fall in love or something? it got to the point where he wasn’t role playing anymore i think.

I think both men and women do this. They create the best version of themselves in order to attract a partner and then once they do get one the personality reverts back to who they truly are and it's up to the individual to determine if they like that personality or not.

I think it's hard to determine that without talking to him directly about it. It's possible that maintaining that personality was hard for him and real feelings got involved, but it could just as easily be that he didn't like you either.
