What do men get out of cat calling women?

I never understood men & women doing this, it is immature and dumb.

Keep it to yourself, don’t whistle or point or giggle with yourself / with friends…. Just be respectable please because it makes women & men feel uncomfortable and disturbed also uneasy. Be empathetic and stop.

It might only work 1 out of 100 times, but if you do it 200 times a month, you'll get some success. Hell, I remember fooling around in a trashy bright yellow mustang a decade and a half ago and getting some numbers doing just that.

Like I wasn't dressed well, the car didn't look nice, only things I had going for me were being in shape, and being young. Still caught some flies with that broken stuttering zapper.

Catcalling itself isn't a strategy worth pursuing, it's that if you're trying to tear through every attractive woman you see you pull all stops, feel no shame, and don't bother crossing the street if she's walking away.

You yell that she's hot, and if she responds, great, if not, that's that.

They’re usually creeps, pervs, or predators that want an ego boost. No one pays attention to a cat-caller in real life. Then they go out of their way bothering someone that’s usually not going to be attracted to them. No one is changing my mind on this.

Hoping to get her attention and hoping she notices us , we are drawn to her beauty and think she looks absolutely gorgeous to our eyes. Catcalling only works if she finds me attractive as well , Females’ catcall as well , so it goes both ways , it usually occurs when we are with friends’ showing off in front of friends’ and trying to be funny , I just got cat called by a few girls’ driving past me in there car , when I was walking out to my mail box , I just smiled at them and laughed , I been catcalled a handful of times by girls’ sometimes it works , sometimes it doesn’t , it’s like a mating call lol

A cat caller is rarely someone with bad intentions but someone who was never taught how to talk to women so he does the sleazy but easy thing instead

Yes it's easy for me to say. I've gotten cat called consistently since I was 14 years old and I hate it. I actually don't mind if someone comes over and talks to me, but cat calling makes me feel like I being viewed as just a piece of meat, so please don't do that to me. And, especially don't do it to a young girl.

it's fine if you hate it as no one is obligated to like anything they don't like for whatever reason but let's not pretend the rules are the same for everyone by everyone regardless of immutable traits

I agree approaching is more respectful than cat calling but what constitutes as respect for each individual will differ and given the way some women be acting in the streets these days compared to our grandmothers, it shows that respect ain't equal. same can be applied to men too
