What does it mean if a guy calls you “wifey”?

TLDR: Why would a guy call his girlfriend wifey?

My boyfriend always calls me wifey or wifey material when I’m cleaning or doing dishes. Or one time he asked if his friends could come over and I said “it’s your house” and he said “but you’re wifey.”

A lot of people say thats a red flag that he doesn’t actually wanna marry me but uses it as manipulation.

He’s been consistent with me for 2 years so I don't know, he invests a lot in me as well. Im 23 he's 27 by the way.
