Why would a guy always check up on me asking how im doing even years later?

This guy i dated literally when I was 14-15. Even after we stopped talking (he ended it) we would always bump into eachother throughout the years like at parties and stuff. And he would call me a lot randomly. One time I remember his friend called me saying he was locked in the bathroom talking about me and that I should call him. I never did. Years later I ended up having a baby and then he had a baby with someone else as well. But even now he checks up on me and we get updates on eachother. He likes all my pictures. I live in a different state as well? Why do guys do this? It's been 8 years

So seems like you obviously aren't interested, yet aren't doing anything to put an end to it. He likes all your pictures because your pages are public which is fine, but you didn't block him. And you said "But even now he checks up on me and we get updates on eachother." How is he doing this? Through text? Call? Why do you still have his number? Either way, you feel like it's pointless for him to still be checking up on you, but you're not actually caring enough to stop it.

I think you're doing the classic chick thing of telling a story a certain way to make it seem like this is all just on him to distract us from the fact that you let him do it, and leaving out details that would indicate that you might still be talking to him as well.
