Guys, why does the guy that I used to talk to still look at me when I walk by and look into my eyes when he sees me? Does he still want to be friends?

So should I try to talk to him the next time I catch him looking at me or the next time our eyes meet and he continues to look into my eyes? Or would that be weird since he did tell me that he felt like we couldn't be friends anymore since he was talking to another girl and it would be weird if we were friends when he knew I had some feelings for him?

Perhaps/probably. Or he's attracted to you and enjoys looking at you. Or he's one of the few people who makes eye contact as part of being human. Or, most likely, he wants to talk to you and is scared to.

Based on your update, yes, I would still go talk to him. Be direct: tell him that the looking at you is confusing when set against what he said about not being friends anymore (which is absurd by the way).

It sounds like he is trying to figure out why you two do not talk and interact any longer? It's like he is saying, "what's up with you?"

He is the one that didn't want to be friends anymore or meet at all when he found out that I liked him when I tried to hold his hand during a walk.. even though we spent so much time together alone (he even asked me to go into the jacuzzi with him!) and I felt some chemistry he said that he was talking to someone else... I don't get why he still looks into my eyes when I pass by because he is the one that didn't seem to want to be friends anymore..
