Boyfriend calls me names to his friends?

My boyfriend and I are close friends with a couple. He’s best friends with his guy friend and I became close to the girl. I was away for work for a week and the girl sent me a recording of my boyfriend speaking to his best friend. In it he repeatedly calls me a f… stupid b… he was saying how when I get pregnant and have a kid how he’ll beat us both. Then says he’s happy I’m away so he doesn’t have to put up with me. He proceeds to put down my family saying they’re foreigners and dumb immigrants. He was drunk while saying this but the next day he again was ranting calling me those names. Is this how guys talk behind their partners backs? The name calling I mean. I’m still in shock about the thoughts on abuse.

People who get into abusive relationship, the abusive person never starts out straight way, like beating his wife. It was starts out with name calling or putting you down, where it bashes your confidence, and once your confidence has been destroyed, he can start controlling you more.

Yeah I have to. I knew when he drank he said stupid stuff and I always blamed the drinking. I just wasn’t sure if guys talk to each other like this but drunk or not that’s still hurtful

Decent guys won’t go that far unless the woman was truly horrible. If my friend was cussing his girl out to me I’d tell him to relax

The saddest part is that when he lost his job I was helping him financially, I was applying for jobs for him, I’d buy food, I cleaned the apartment, when he was sick I bought soup and food but he never mentions this. When I got Covid from him he never offered to get me anything. He’s two faced and he lies to me and his friends. To my face he acts sweet when sober and then I hear this.

What advice would you give to your friend or family member if they told you this?

I would tell them to leave him. Logically I’ve known this for a while but I kept hanging on. His photos will pop up and I just feel sad that someone who had sweet moments could be not so sweet and I don’t even know why I feel bad, almost like I feel sorry for him.
