Boyfriend called me his "ladyfriend" to his friends?

He was talking to his friends on the phone and wanted me to say hi (it's a new relationship and I haven't met them yet) and he said that he was with his ladyfriend *my name* and that he wanted me to say hi. Which don't get me wrong, I think it's cool that he wanted me to say hey, but when he and I are talking, he refers to me as his girlfriend (which we are; we're exclusive). I asked him why he called me his ladyfriend and he says it means that same thing but he never uses it when he talks to me. I always heard ladyfriend wasn't a good thing to be called; like it casual and not an actual girlfriend. He's 25 and I'm 22 by the way.

I should add that we haven't had sex yet or anything and he isn't pushing me to do its not just some sex thinng

Wow I had no idea some people were so against that term. Some of my friends choose to say that over girlfriend. Maybe his friends usually say ladyfriend instead of girlfriend so that's what he refers you as when he talks to them but you refer to it the more common way so he says it that way around you. I've said it before but I don't think it's less significant but apparently a lot of people here think it is so who knows.

Yeah, he should be calling you his girlfriend. That's what you are. Ladyfriend just sounds really shady and sketchy. When I hear that I think of a hooker or prostitute or something.

Lady friend might just be a female friend, or a girl who a guys just sleeping with. And may use that term So yes i agree with you need to talk to him and clear that up so you and him are on the same level of a relationship.
