Guy's Behavior

Boys please give me advice on what to do with this guy?

Ok so here’s my situation, I used to be friend with this guy he wasn’t super popular and neither was I but he was really good friends with my brother and then we became really close friends. We used to call all the time but I don't know if it was as deep to him as it was to me. Around 7th grade I went to a different school and was mean to him. I would ask him questions and have my friends message him but I was weird af. Now I transferred back to this new school and he’s popular and hot. I definitely had a glow down but he def liked me in middle school. He’s into theese really hot women and I’m still not popular. Lowkey I realized I have been obnoxious in class for his attention. I really want to reach out and call him but I don’t know what to say, I need an excuse. I tried messaging him last night and he was being annoying on snap and it seemed like he didn’t want to talk to me. We go to the same school and I don’t want to call him if you think it would make things awkward or he would think I am more weird than I am what should I do
