Question

I recently joined a server on discord (of like 800 people) where I met some really cool maybe 12 others that I really hit it off with, so we made our own mini server where we voice and video chat all the time, have great banter and it was even numbers 6 guys and 6 girls so we have paired each other up for laughs.

The guy I paired with was the guy I had initially started having the laugh with in the main server not our own one so when we hopped into our own one of course the banter and the laughs kept up. We DM each other on discord all the time and we laugh about being married etc but I'm starting to think the guy actually likes me or maybe he's just really taking the piss? I'm not sure.

Some gifs are like very questionable if you know what I mean 😂 that's the best way I could put it. He likes to have proper meaningful chats, he's given me a nickname (a cute one) and I always get a good morning/night from him.

It's all super cute and blah blah blah but the guy is a good couple of years older than me, never met him as he's in a different country (all of us want to meet at some point though) and so now I don't know if he's taking the piss because I'm younger than him or if he genuinely likes me ya know?

Anyone know if he seems genuine? I'm afraid to ask him in case he's just like what? No? And then it changes the dynamic between us soooo...

OMG girl, that does sound so confusing! On the one hand, he's definitely acting like he's into you with all the cute nicknames, meaningful chats, and flirty gifting. That's not usually just friendly banter territory.

But the age difference coupled with never actually meeting does make it hard to know for sure what his intentions are. He could be enjoying the attention from you since you're younger, or it's possible he's really starting to develop real feelings.

If I were you, I wouldn't come right out and ask him if he likes you. That could make things awkward as you said. Instead, I'd maybe start flirting back a bit and see how he reacts. Like send some flirty gifs back or amp up the cute nicknames for him too. Pay attention to if he seems excited or shy when you reciprocate.

You could also try casually asking what he's looking for relationship-wise. Like say you've started talking to a few guys and want to know if it's a boyfriend type situation he's hoping for eventually or just for fun chats. His response to that subtle feeler could tell you more without putting him directly on the spot.

I'd give it some more time chatting too. Let things progress naturally and see if he starts opening up more about himself. Feelings have a way of revealing themselves over time. But girl, it sure does sound promising so far! Keep me posted what happens next, ok? Fingers crossed for you!
