Why are young guys so rude but old men aren't?

I am 29 yr old female. Young guys under 40 usually never talk to me. The very attractive ones ignore me. They usually won't talk to me at all unless they are at work in a customer service job or law enforcement etc.

Only old guys seem comfortable talking to me. Its the old guys that are friendly and initiate conversations, say hi.

There’s a lot of reasons. I think older men like myself were raised more strict, adhered to male roles. So a lot of us still maintain those male roles in talking to women , being polite, opening doors for women, etc. Some younger men do the same. At the same time the amount of videos I’ve seen online w women saying we don’t need men, women are creeps, leave us alone, etc, I can see why they don’t talk to women these days. I’d probably be the same way as well. A lot of women always want this or that, want to be independent, left alone but than they realize they don’t like it then they complain why aren’t men helping us. Why aren’t men stepping up. I think too men are just tired of being treated like shit. Men are living up to the gender equality that women demanded, many of them are putting themselves first. older men in addition grew up an out a lot of social media. So we actually had to learn to talk to people.

Many guys think that women have high standards while men don't. If you're not pretty, young and cute, you will be ignored by men, especially by young guys. Even old men are only looking to date women 15 to 20 years younger.

I think a lot of women have high standards as well. As for older men liking younger women I think that’s just nature. A lot of times older women are bitter. A lot of women seem to want a man who’s 6 ft or taller, makes six figures, etc. Which is never shamed but the minute a man says he wants a girl who’s curvy, cute, feminine he’s blasted by women.

so why are you blasting cute young women for wanting men who are at least 6 feet, tall dark handsome and rich?

I’m not. I’m pointing out the hypocrisy of women. I have no issues w it, doesn’t bother me. I’m just saying women have these requirements but when men have requirements like not wanting a girl w a high body count now all of a sudden men having requirements is a problem.

I’m not blasting them for wanting that. I’m pointing out what women do then they get mad at men for having preferences. I could care less I’ve been w someone for 16 years.

Older guys are less hung up on looks. Older guys also come from a time where everything wasn't online with everything wasn't instant gratification. This forced people to get to know eachother. And it was an enjoyable thing not a chore like many people today make it out to be.

It's because y'all say shit like this. It's so offputting when you insinuate that you only want very attractive people talking to you. Now I'm feeling like I'm just going to piss you off if I try and talk to you, so I don't bother.

I don't know I always hear women complaining about my generation, and how they don't want us. I'll admit i don't have a great outlook, but I'm just calling it how I see it. I used to try and make small talk all the time just because I thought it was nice. The women called me corny and laughed behind my back. The guys said I was "trying too hard." I'm smart enough to know not everyone is like that, but damn it's discouraging.

Men reject me a lot too. But what I learned is to have peace in being alone. Surround yourself with family and people who appreciate you.

You take rejection too personally because you're unhappy being alone.

I agree with that honestly. The only thing is, we don't really have that many people that appreciate us. Lots of guys do, and I can't speak for them. But I don't feel appreciated by pretty much anyone. My family is caught up in drugs and conflict, so not much there. My friends only want me around when I'm giving them something. I know it sounds harsh, but they really don't have time for me. I try to be kind in person as much as possible, but I feel like that just backfires. Like people can sense that I'm desperate to make them like me. I'm just complaining right now, so don't take me too seriously. I do make a reasonable effort to have a fulfilling single life at the end of the day, but I come on here to vent

I don't have a good family or friends either. I always adapt to the environment I am given. If I am unable to have friends or family, I just learn to live alone without anyone. But what keeps me going is having a child as a single woman in a few years. That way, I will at least have some sort of love in my life.

Traveling and doing activities might be hard because you don't really have anyone to do things with. But I go try to find travel groups or strangers online who are into doing similar activities.

Most people I meet in life don't end up befriending me. But I just meet as many as I can so that I can maybe find at least 1 person eventually after many years.

I don't even really vent anymore. Because I learned to adapt. Somethings you just cannot change about life. No point in complaining about it. Rather you would have more peace by learning to live with it.

Don't beg. Don't fret. Your fate is fate.

Try to work on social skills. Having good social skills is important to people wanting to talk to you. Stop trying to make friends with everyone you talk to. Just learn to enjoy the conversation and have fun than to always seek an end goal of friendship or a date. Most people you talk to will not end up being your friend. This doesn't only happen to you. This happens to most of us

Sometimes you really don't have control over your fate. You are born with your personality and if people don't like it, then you can't do much about it. Its way harder for me to get people to be attracted to me compared to the average person. But there's not much I can do about it. I can improve my social skills a bit but is that gonna change my personality? no
