1 yI had homeschooled a preschooler son of a good friend. In a foreign country, the school system was not satisfying and we used an Australian program with online support.
I grew very close to this 6-year-old little man.
And when I had to leave for a new job elsewhere I broke two hearts.
I will not do it again :(

1 yOnce without knowing it though I'm not sure whether to call it mentoring. He was twenty years younger than me and we were warming up for a football (soccer) match when he told me about his doubts after switching his line of education. I don't remember what I replied but one year later he thanked me as he had used parts of my reply in an interview that got him the job he had applied for.

6 moYes i did, mentored boys and girls..
Bartender maya, how can i send you a message in private, cause there's something important that i need to tell you!
Plus, as an uber moderator around here, you know how things works around here, when you remove a comment which is against gag's rules, you must look if this comment was a reply on an assault done by another member, you just can't go there and delete someone's comment just because someone had asked you to do it, at least take a look at the whole convo to see the truth and i don't mind you removing a comment of mine because tou found it offensive but it makes me puzzled when you don't remove the offensive comment which was written in caps lock mentioning my name which led to my somewhat offensive reply, if you have removed both, that's fair but to remove mine only and keeping her's is something that i didn't expect from you because you're a nice girl and we have talked a couple of times in the past...
So next time, someone who comes crying at you to be able to troll another member, please try to take some time to find the truth about what really happened before making any decision, thank you!

u 6 moSorry. Im not sure what this rant is all about. I dont know the comment you are referring to that was removed. Yes I am a moderator but I'm not the only moderator on this site. For you to single me out for something I probably didn't remove is strange. I am rarely here anymore. I have a regular job during the week and rarely come on during weekends since it is the only time I have to unwind anymore. If you believe that a moderator has made a mistake or has been biased then contact the admins. All I can tell you is that I have removed no such comments of yours or really anyone's as of late. I'm a little confused why you thought this was me and not one of the many other mods on the site.

Miss maya, it's you because she talked to you and after that, my comment was removed...
Maybe you have a lot going on in your life, so i don't blame you if you can't remember what happened but i'll write the link for you so you can remember what happened and what she wrote you... - 6 mo
Here's the link bartender Maya, read what sage2021 wrote you...
If two people are following each other on here, but I have the Sexuality topic blocked, why do I get their nasty sexual questions and replies still? ↗

u 10 moRight now, I'm just working on my son. Sure, he's only five years old, but there are still important things he should start learning. Every day, I pray for him, that he will be a holy, loving, strong, and virtuous man.
Other than that, not really, at least nothing long term or consistent. I'd be happy to though if someone asked. I do plan to write some MyTakes in the future about masculinity, resilience, faith, and also just share my own personal stories of struggle and triumph.
I do have a family friend though who got divorced a few years ago. She has two young boys and their father isn't involved with them at all (or barely). I've offered to step in and fill that void as much as I can for them.
This is a great question to ask 👍🤗
10 Reply I used to work at a group home for at risk boys 8-14 taking them on trips, cooking, taking them to school etc. I also used to be "group leader" for 6th grade boys at church where I pretty much just did Sunday school and played games with them.

1 yI tried to but it didn't work. I was in scouts and we were required to mentor younger scouts. They didn't listen or appreciate anything we had to say.
