How to get over a man who I thought liked me but is now falling for someone else?

A man I worked with for a time was very nervous around me. He’d stare at me from afar and would on some occasions check me out and linger around me like he wanted to talk. I reached out offering friendship as an outlet for us to get to know each other as I didn’t want to rush things and he didn’t give a reply.

Today, I indirectly overheard a conversation him and another co-worker of mine wherein another girl I was not aware of name popped up. When I got upset he just ignored me and kept on talking to his friend how great this new girl of his is. He keeps on saying her name around me and turns his back to me. I never had a chance. How do I get over this pain?

Unless a man explicitly tells you he’s interested, don’t assume anything. This is how you break your own heart. If he were interested, he would be pursuing you and not this other girl. I’ve been down this road as well, believe me. I’ve had to learn the hard way. You just have to move on with your life. The pain will go away, but you have to continue on with your life.

Hold on, so you got upset when eavesdropping on his conversation? What did you do? Did you expect him to cut his conversation short to comfort you? I don't know how you could hear all of that 'indirectly' unless you were standing two feet away from him. You probably heard a couple of things and are filling in your own story to the worst possible outcome.
