Honestly I think that depends on the guy I myself kinda like just forget to like shave n it'll be like weeks or sometimes longer until I decide I wanna shave n that just depends on what I want to shave like I've got a mustache and goatee n tbh it's a bitch n a half to keep up with like shaping n keeping everything like straight n like leveled n all that shit n tbh like because of my daily activity n routine I don't get a chance to shower for like a couple days cuz I'm out and about doing shit that's got me in the circumstances of not being able to or like I've got to stay at a friend's house for whatever reason so then for the next few days til I'm able to get home I won't be able to shower but I make it a point to take care of what I need too from hygiene to like washing my dirty laundry to cleaning my room or area depending if I'm out in the streets then I gotta go like long periods of time til I'm able to change and shower n shit and then of course if im in the streets then i won't be able to shave so i look scruffy but I make it to where im not slacking n not taking care of myself but it goes kinda like the same for haircuts most times im too broke to afford a haircut so i get my homies to cut my hair n even then i cut it a certain way that like it really isn't like long til anyone of my friends cwn cut my hair n or ill do it myself n tbh i think im good at being able to take care of myself i even take care of myself even if i am depressed or not like my mood ain't gonna get me or stop me from wanting to look and feel good you know? I hope this helps with like the other side of life of men that have an excuse as to why they're not really keeping up with themselves cuz not every man is the same fucking some men just don't care n let themselves go n yeah it's kinda gross but they kinda like that for whatever reason they decided on n I've never ever been the one to not want to not be clean cuz even when I was homeless I was able to shower and use my friends bathrooms n whatever they had to my use so I don't know how guys can't keep up with themselves unless theyre active as fuck n or just don't or are aware of that they should or have to keep up with themselves in any way I guess

It’s possible it stems down from depression , when someone is depressed they usually don’t give a fuck about themselves so they just let themselves go and no longer care what other people think or say about them.

It CAN mean that the same way you can let yourself go if you’re depressed. Not having the energy to put makeup on, fix your hair, etc. Depends on the man though some people don’t care as much about grooming as others

nope, I shave every day, get a hair cur once a month. I'm rarely depressed or do anything to feel guilty about, but I do take pride in my appearance.
