I am curious for the men out there, how does it feel when you're sick?

In my experience men seem to be very dramatic when they get sick and act like it's horrible when they have the slightest sniffle. I've been bubbling snot and have had my past partners act as though I should still be capable of doing things.. my current boyfriend hasn't ever seen me sick yet, I see him being attentive and letting me rest during that time.. but he acts like a baby when he has the slightest sniffle. Just wondering if there's a difference in how you feel physically.

*to those who assume I'm judging my boyfriend for how he feels when he's sick* he referred to himself as being a big baby when he doesn't feel good.. not me.

I think it has more to do with us feeling overstimulated or overwhelmed. It's the fact that we're not in control of how we are feeling more than trying to overplay and hype up just how bad we feel. Yeah we feel bad and it's miserable because honestly, who enjoys being sick? But ultimately, we just want to sleep or be pampered and catered to during our sick days so we aren't feeling overwhelmed by having to do stuff when we're already feeling like crap. It's mostly a sensory thing with me because it's out of my control, so if I can sleep through my hypersensitive overloaded feeling of unwellness and avoid doing anything else that requires effort including getting up to get medicine or a glass of water, it's a small win and victory despite my still feeling defeated.

For me I’m usually up doing stuff. The few times I had Covid, 4 to be exact I ate a lot, exercised and played video games. I very rarely take medications for things unless it’s a dire situation. I work in the hospital, I have seen it go both ways for men and women. Some men as well as women acting dramatic like they’re dying.

That's how my boyfriend was this morning.. I asked him how he's feeling? And he replied with "he's alive.. but barely" and said his throat hurts still and went back to bed. 🙄

This is an interesting stereotype. In my relationship she is the one who is the big baby when she's sick or on her period, and I am the one who you wouldn't know is sick unless I sneeze or cough. Same was true growing up with me and my three sisters. They were definitely the babies and my mom always said so.

Everyone is different. Some men are big babies, and some women are.

I am not no sissy I don't to the doctor or cry about I fight through it like a real instead of wasting money on healthcare and taking take bullshit medications and getting even sicker from them.

This has actually been studied scientifically, it's mainly due to men having a stronger immune reaction to infections, which makes us feel worse.

I was reading about that, which is what prompted me to ask this question to the men out there and see if anyone can describe it and if it actually physically feels different than from a woman's reaction to being sick.

I don't understand what women go through when they deal with their period, but I would never tell them that they are being dramatic. I see they are in pain/discomfort and I feel bad.

If I'm sick enough that I'm making a big deal out of it and my girl takes care of me for a couple days, it's not cause I have the fucking sniffles.

I can't speak on what women feel when they get sick, but I can you I'm a big baby when I'm puking and shitting my guts out or can't breathe from coughing so much, I think I should be fucking allowed to be, it's not fucking pleasant. Last time I was sick I was puking so hard I burst blood vessels in my eyes. I have never seen my girl, or any girl experience this.

I think men should pay close attention to how his woman treats him when he's sick. It's very telling on what kind of woman she is.

That I can understand, I was just wondering if it feels different for men. I can tell I'm sick by the amount of time I sneeze in a day. (Sounds weird to count them I know) I normally sneeze twice and then I'm done for the day. Except for when I am sick. I'll sneeze 5 or more times in a day then. I've been sneezing more often lately so I know my body's been trying to fight it off. So far so good.

I'm not a weirdo for wondering why they react so strongly right away. just because their throat hurts and don't show any signs of being sick at all.
