Just let him be. He is obviously trying to aggravate you. Your phone is very modern compared to the one I own.

It is a 1996 model that has no modern texting capability nor does it have all those fancy gadgets. If I want to text something, I have to press the key 3 times to type a specific letter.

Maybe he is just trying annoy you. That's what immature boys do to try to make themselves look interesting.

I would not worry too much about this childish behavior. It will go away when he realizes that you don't react to his game.
