Should I get rid of my boy bestfriend?

recently, I just started to notice that my boy best friend is acting strange whenever i talk about new guys im interested in.

for example, the other day I showed him a picture of a guy that I’m talking to and he didn’t even listen to any of the perks about him. He just immediately started saying how much he didn’t like him. (he doesn’t know him)

and he also questions me about what i am going to do when i hang out w this guy. basically seeing if i am going to sleep w him.

I also just started to think maybe he might be getting off on the fact that I call and talk to him all the time. His friends all think that I’m his girlfriend, and I’m not, his actual girlfriend doesn’t like me due to how much time we spend together on the phone. we used to be friends but she hates when i call and hates when he interacts with me. why he doesn’t leave me if his girlfriend doesn’t like me?

not really sure if I am on to something but I feel like it’s time for me to go. we’ve been bestfriends since we were 14 . we’re both 25 now

Yeah , he is interested and very keen , you have friend zoned him , to be kind " set him free " he needs to go , and he needs to be around other women , not you , as you are not going to help him , sometimes we must " cut clean the dead wood , " for their own sake , I appreciate its been a long time , but it must be done.
