Why do male customers seem quiet and uncomfortable around me?

Men, I’ve noticed that when male customers come in, they tend to be quiet, distant, and seem unimpressed or try to act cool.

I’ve been told I’m attractive, so I’m wondering if there’s something I’m doing that makes them uncomfortable.

I really want them to feel at comfortable. What might be causing this? Any feedback would really help.

Well its hard to say with this little of information. What kind of store do you work in? Maybe they don't want help and they fear you will push them into buying something they aren't looking for. Or maybe they are a bit intimedated by you? Or they want help but think you don't want to help them. Could be anything really.

I work as assistant in dental office, I notice with good looking men or men that look like they take care of themselves, they tend to act like that.

But men who are average looking, are usually more friendly

@aromatic_xo I feel for you lady, the hot guys are either already taken or dont wanna be taken, and the average guys (whether you like average or do or would settle do lol) have nothing to lose by being friendly to anyone and everyone lol 😆 go figure aye eh?

Just because someone is taken, shouldn’t stop them from being kind. Not everyone is trying to steal you from your partner.

Being attractive isn’t the only thing that matters in life.

It my job to make sure the customers have a great experience while they’re there, and when they look cold or uptight. I feel bad because I want them to be comfortable and have a great experience

I used to think female customers were quiet around me and eye avoiders 👀👀👁️👁️ go figure 😄 - this was of course my earlier to mid 20s.

Some guys are nervous around pretty girls or girls in general. Try talking to them first so they will see that you are approachable.

I usually ask, how are you? How’s your day going?

they usually give me one answer, ‘good, and this tells me that they don’t want to talk.

What are other things I could talk to

Try to ask questions they can't reply to with one word like what are your plans for the day/afternoon/evening/weekend, or what did they do on the weekend. Of course if a guy doesn't want to talk they may just say "nothing". Depending on your business, you could ask them something related to it.

Yeah, they want you but they are afraid to ask you out. Or they are in a relationship with someone else but want you anyway.
