Can you tell if a close female friend is on her period?

I was hanging out with a few guy friends that were visiting my city for a couple weeks; taking them around and sightseeing. I’m generally not a moody person & we had been having a great time every day we all hung out. Then, I took them out to this restaurant, we had some food, went for a walk & ended up at this sports bar. Shortly after, I felt my period symptoms kick in; the grogginess, cramps & pain. I rested my head on my bag that I put on the table & they asked if I was ok. I said yeah but I’m not feeling 100%. They asked if it was the food & I said no, I don’t know why. Then, one of the guys asked me a question & I gave a very dry response. They also noticed that I was yawning a lot & said that I seemed tired. I later popped some Tums in my mouth & tried not to look uncomfortable. Later, I went home & sent a text apologizing for my vibe being off throughout the day & told my guy friend that I was in a lot of pain & knew what was wrong, but just didn’t know how to tell them. He said he understands & said he hopes I get some rest. Do you think that they assumed I was on my period, but didn’t want to be rude?

Fck sake stop looking for excuses to apologize for being a woman. Sorry but, yes you are a woman! You are not one of the guys, you aren’t meant to be them and it’s ok that we are different! We get our periods, we get symptoms and if that’s in the form of being moody then yes a man may notice. Oh well. I don't know if your intent with this post was to make it seem like your period is some shameful secret for your male friends to find out but if bodily autonomy is off putting them maybe you need different friends. Like a woman or two.

And side note your friend doesn’t understand and that’s fine too! He can’t understand because he’s not a woman, he’s just giving you empathy because you are acting so ashamed of your symptoms! A yawn and some tums, omg the signs of a period, what will the men think? 🙄

My intent of this post wasn’t to make it seem like some shameful secret. I’m not ashamed of my period, but I usually only tell men whom I’m intimate with when I’m on my period. I was just looking back on my actions and wondered if I made it pretty obvious (which I’m not ashamed of either way)

Generally I can it’s okay if a woman’s moody but as long as she doesn’t take something out of my control out on me. Once someone reaches that level of trust they will tell you anything.
