Okay, let me share some context… ready?

I am the dumpee and he is the dumper.

Dumper did it because he found out that I lied about who I met for dinner before heading over to dumper’s

Dumper told me I have 10 mins (on text) to reveal whatever I have lied about. So I did.

I explained my intentions as well. It was to catch up with my friend (whom we used to have a short term casual way before I got to know dumper ) . Of course, dumper got upset because “why would you stil want to contact him

I shared that I just wanted to catch up.

Anyway, dumper started to accuse me of sleeping with that friend before I met him. I understood why he would think that way cause trust is already broken and the emotions and overthinking will run scenarios in his head. I kept explaining and reinforcing that I didn’t sleep with him

Anyway, as time goes by, yes he explained that he was devastated, yes he said that he felt betrayed and yes, he thinks that I’m not understanding the sitch

So there’s your answer right there. If you were honest with him before anything happened, he’d probably still be talking to you. But if you lied to him and he found out, of course that trust is broken and most times there’s no fixing it. So unfortunately you can’t blame him for how he feels. You would the same thing in his position if roles were reversed
